Hawaii

Well here we are in Hawaii. It has been almost a week already and I feel like I just got here! We are staying on campus with my grandparents so we have been going to a few campus activities. It is really beautiful. What strikes me the most is the culture though. I took Jadyn to the park one day and there playing were children from Korea, Japan, Hawaii and who knows where else. It is really interesting to see all the children playing together without a care for color or ethnicity. They just accept each other for who they are. We could all learn a lesson from these children! It's funny to be a minority and to see people from all parts of the world joined together with similar goals and dreams.

We have gone to the beach a couple times and so far Jadyn isn't quite sure about the waves. She loves the sand and doesn't mind when the water touches her feet, but when the big waves come crashing in she isn't sure what to think. The first time she cried when a wave came in and I couldn't figure out why because she has always liked the water, but then when I got down to her level I realized I would cry too if the waves were coming at me at chin height!

Here we are at the airport when we first arrived. We were greeted with fresh flower lei's.

Cherisa and grandpa are standing in the courtyard of the first church that was built in Hawaii.
