MIA

Ok I realize I have been really lame lately with my (lack of) postings. Sorry! Here is an overview of what has been happening the last few weeks.

Two weekends ago Josh dealt with a problem at work, it was a really sad story and two of the Mexican workers that the company had brought up ended up dying. Josh had to tell the family, and take care of some of the "cleanup" I guess you could call it. Read the article to find out about the story. Sorry it's kinda old news now!

Jadyn had her first haircut last week. I decided that enough people had commented on her "mullet" and it was time to take action. So I just trimmed up the back and it looks a lot better now. The funny thing is I probably cut about an inch but there wasn't much hair to show for it!

I know everyone was just dying to see a picture of the scraps of hair!

Today I finally got around to putting up Jadyn's Christmas present up on he wall in her room. I just love this. I think it is so cute and looks great on her wall! It's one of those Vinyl letter things that are the craze right now.

Jadyn and I have recently discovered the fun things to do at the YMCA, we used to just go there to swim all the time, but lately we started going to the "toddler gym" she likes to run around and play with the balls and climbing equipment, and it gets us out of the house for a free outing (and keeps me out of the mall!) We also still go swimming a lot and now that the Kane's got their membership too we like to go with them. Although I think Jadyn's favorite part is the hot shower afterward!

Next week we leave for our big family holiday! We are driving down to Utah to visit Josh's sister Renae and then we will be flying out of Salt Lake to Cancun, Mexico! I am so excited I have never been there before. The closest I have gotten to Mexico is Tijuana, but josh says you can hardly count that. Josh is pretty pumped because we ended up getting a flight on the way home that stops in Mexico city for a 6 hour layover. So he is going to call up a couple old mission families and see if we can visit for a few hours while we are there and of course show me around town!

Lately I have been spending A LOT of time reading. I am borderline obsessed with the "Children of the Promise" series. It's about a fictional LDS family during the time of World War II. It is all about the struggles and hardships they went though and how life was during that time. I am learning so much and really enjoying them too.

Here are some recent pictures of some special times with Jadyn and her daddy!

Shooting hoops at the pool

Trying to teach her the ways of hockey (she clearly doesn't get it)

bedtime stories!

I'm reading Children of the Promise as well! I read the series a few years ago, but decided recently to start over again! I can't seem to put them down! Drives my husband crazy!!! I gave Adelaide her first haircut the other day, as well. I did it in the bath tub because I wouldn't get her to sit still any other time. We go to the YMCA, too, and I've decided we need to try out the toddler gym as well. It's so intersting how alike our lives are!Have fun in Cancun!
