This past weekend we were in Golden BC for our neighbour's wedding. It was stunning! I have never been to a Sikh wedding before so that was an interesting experience and then they went all out for the reception and had it at the top of Eagle eye mountain. Unfortunately my battery ran out for my camera and I forgot to bring the charger so I didn't get any photos on the mountain. I was so ticked! But I will try to get some from Norry later so I can post them. It was a fun weekend, the kids slept horribly as they always do when we try to get away, but other than that it was fun! Oh and we also went to church on Sunday morning in Golden since we found the LDS branch there, and we almost doubled the congregation! Seriously, there were no more than about 12 members plus another family who was also visiting.
Ok here are the photos from the wedding ceremony. It was really cool because they had a white girl who is a convert do the ceremony. She has been baptized which is why she wears the head wrap and I got a chance to visit with her afterward and her story was really cool. It is so neat how she embraced Sikhism and how she lives her life. I love learning about other cultures and religions. Anyway the photos as promised:

It is a pretty casual ceremony. Everyone just sits on the carpet in the room. this is Jadyn enjoying the freedom.

The happy couple! The night of the ceremony they had everyone over for a BBQ at the cabin they were staying it at Kicking Horse. They had a pretty good fight!
This is Sharona's nephew Dominic, he and Jadyn had a thing for each other all weekend! They followed each other around everywhere and were caught holding hands more than once! Adorable!
And unfortunately thats all I have for now. The most exquisite part at the top of the mountain got missed by my dead battery camera! :o(
So since we were doing the wedding thing all weekend Josh kinda got shafted for Father's day, but he wasn't too disappointed because he made up for it by coming home from work on Monday with this:
If only he had thought of this BEFORE the weekend. So I am excited to play around taking nice photos!
And I can't forget we had some special visitors last weekend, and even though I forgot to pull the camera out when Heidi and Jonah were awake I did get some shots of Jadyn and Brooklyn playing. When Brooklyn wasn't busy teaching Jadyn a new trick, how to hit, (eek) they actually were playing really nice. Here they are giving big hugs for the camera!
And Brooklyn was so cute watching the ant that was crawling all over her arm, she was just fascinated with this little creature. It was pretty cute. Thanks for coming to visit, we love you guys!

I love their fancy fabrics!!! and congrats on the new camera. fancy shmancy!!! are you sure it was a gift for josh and not for yoU!!?? heehee!!! how cool that the stuckarts headed up there!! sounds like a fun weekend, except for jaydn getting hit!! good thing she's tough!

You know if jadyn would have shared her toys or at least not wanted every toy Brooklyn decided to play with, she wouldn't have had to hit her. *hehe* Okay - eeks is right...if it's any consolation - Brooklyn was asking to go back to Auntie laura and Jadyn's house the whole way to Jenny's. LOL She did have a great time, even if they spent a portion of the time at odds! lol
the wedding sounds amazing! and ooo on the camera!!! I sooo need one....ours is on its last legs...let me know how you like that one! we're debating between a canon and nikon...
ooohh what a cool wedding. I also love the fabrics at weddings like that! Im so glad that you had fun and how cool to get a nice camera (you will love it!!). jelous that you and hailey got to hang out (ok I know i was invited), Sad for jadyn that it was a part II to getting hit and kicked so much last july at our get together, but I guess its something that will get better as she ages??! Iits funny cause if memory serves correct, brooklyn has loved ants for quite some time now! cute! We will have to do another get together that I can come to :) yay!!!
