Valentines Day

The girls handed out these valentines at school this year, aren't they darling? I downloaded the templates from florabella and added their photos to it for a cute bookmark to hand out!

Valentines day this year was a little extra special. I wanted to make it fun for the girls. They are at the ages where they are learning and talking about it in school and they are so excited about it. So the night before I put together a fun breakfast for them to wake up too. They couldn't have been more excited. Even Mya, when I carried her into the kitchen, her mouth went into and excited "O" it was so cute! Here are the picture of the table. A little cluttered but so so fun :)

They each got one of these little bug filled with goodies. One chocolate lollipop and some valentines toys. They loved it!

chocolate covered bananas rolled in nuts.

I had to give myself a gift since I didn't tell Josh about it and didn't want the kids to think I was left out lol!

I used the cards Jadyn and Heidi made for us at their schools as decoration. They are so sweet! I am keeping them forever.

Heidi's artwork.

yummy smoothies topped with pink whip cream and heart shaped sprinkles! Am so cool! I went completely out of my comfort zone here to not prepare a healthy breakfast! Haha.

pink whipping cream for the pancakes.

heart shaped of course :)

Jadyn was so excited to be sitting by the chocolate covered strawberries, which Heidi didn't actually even like! So I am pretty sure Jadyn ate the whole plate!

Loved her bug :)

For some reason Heidi didn't like the pancakes I made, maybe because she is used to me making them whole wheat and I actually made all white ones (ok except the oat flour I added, I couldn't resist, I have a disease!) So she asked me if she could have vegetables instead, lol. Since she wanted to eat her chocolate lollipop. So I said ok. It's valentines day right?!

Mya went up to Heidi and just put her arm around her and gave her a hug. It was adorable. She gives the BEST hugs!

Heidi helped me with the heart shaped cheese that I volunteered to make for Jadyn's school party. They don't allow treats at her school so all the party snack have to be healthy! I love it!

Then we made some sugar cookies for a party Heidi got to go to in the afternoon with a friends from church, and also for FHE treat that night. I think sugar cookies are so gross, but they are so easy to make pretty and festive!

Heidi's little helping hand :)

So proud of her work! I dipped them in melted chocolate and Heidi sprinkled them!

At the party later that day, this is the only picture I took!

And we ended of the day with these baby's from Boston Pizza. Did you know they do heart shaped pizza's every year on Valentines day? Nice easy meal after a FULL day!

These are the valentines Heidi handed out this year along with her book mark. They were so much fun to make!

I just love this face!

I love that you struggled with the "unhealthy" breakfast, because I totally get that! And my kids would probably ask for veggies, too. Awesome. What a great idea though. As every holiday passes I always feel bad that I don't do ANYTHING. Maybe just making a themed breakfast would be a way to start. You are an inspiration!
