Christmas preparations

We did our activity advent calendar again this year. I have a lot of pinterest ideas and want to do them all but realize that unfortunately I can't, so one Christmas thing a day from pinterest or other traditions will get us through the holidays with me still feeling like a good mom ;) Sorry pinterest, I love you but i can't do everything! I just couldn't do the elf on a shelf thing. I don't buy it. I think it looks fun but seriously? That is just one more thing I need to remember to do every night!! haha. So hear are some snapshots to tell the story of some of the Christmas happening around here over the holidays! We really do have fun, I just get busy and forget to document it all!

We had a "whoville" themed dance at the church!  We invited some friends form the girls school and everyone had a blast!  I guess Heidi didn't love her hairdoo, but I did ;)

We made a gingerbread train, and then I was told afterward that it wasn't as good as the gingerbread houses of past years!  Lesson learned.  Stick with the traditions!

 

Trimming the tree!

We had an impromptu vsit with Santa after the dentist one day, no lineup so why not!  I figured we would head back another day all dressed up and looking pretty, but it didn't happen, so I am glad that I got this iphone shot at least!  Mya love him!

My mom had a fun craft for the girls to do, they decorated Christmas ornaments with jewels!  Oh so fun.

I love this shot of Jake sitting with his sisters why they played with their nativity.  So precious.

Of course we had reindeer pancakes!

Christmas day was a lot of fun too.  I'll save that for another post!
