Washington, DC

So this last week Josh and I went down to DC for a little vacation. We flew into Richmond where we met up with one of Josh's old mission buddies and spent a couple days in Virginia by their place and at the beach. The the next 3 days of the trip were spent touring around DC. It was pretty cool to see all the history in the area. We of course went to a lot of museums and saw the monuments, the white house, and Mt. Vernon We took Heidi with us since she is nursing but left Jadyn behind with grandparents. She had a blast without us but I of course missed her a lot!!! She would have been so bored with us though so I am glad we left her behind.


Botanical Gardens

So there was all this hype about the "Hope Diamond" in this one museaum and a special room for it and everything. I was so prepared to see this amazing huge rock and i walked into the room with a big crowd around the glass case which held the famou Hope Diamond, and this is what was inside... WHAT?? I was so not impressed. I mean it is definately impressive but i was expecting somethign enormous, and this just didn't cut it. Oh well, i definately wouldn't have complained if I was the one wearing it!

The night before we left, I went into Jadyn's room to check on her (and to kiss her goodbye for the week!) and this is what I found. I am pretty sure she was in her bed when I left her for the night! I don't know how this didn't wake her up. I killed myself laughing that's for sure!
