Happy Birthday to my baby!!!

Well for those of who who are actually still looking at this blog still, my little Heidi turns ONE today! A year went by waaay too fast and I can't believe how grown up she is getting (as if one is all grown up, to me it is!) So much happens in the first year that it is kind of sad that it is over, but on to bigger and better things! Like walking! Yup she is attempting the walking thing now. She is so fun, as soon as she is up on her feet she always looks at me with this really excited look on her face and almost everytime starts laughing ( it is more of a hyperventalating nervous laugh, but still a laugh! i love it. And then she takes a few steps, sometimes more than a few and land on her bum and continues to crawl. She loves practicing though, what a happy girl she is.

Some other fun things about her to note on this special occasion:

she has a special stuffy! it is so cute, this little doggy (actually any stuffy will do but the dog is her favorite) she sleeps with it tucked under her arm and when I get her out of her crib she always has it in her hands, and if she doesn't then she wont let me get her out until she finds it under the blankets or wherever it is hiding. This little puppy can take her form crying to laughing just by the sight of it!

As for talking, she pretty much just has mommy and daddy down pat, although daddy is her favorite :0( and she sort of says doggy, it is more of doddy which sounds more like daddy than doggy but it really is doggy! (I know because I am her mother after all)She does the hyperventilating laugh again every time she sees a dog walking on the sidewalk outside and always has to pet it (more like grab it and scare it away, we are working on being more gentle!)

She LOVES the park, the slide and swings, the slide gets her giggling and the swings the higher the better to make her laugh, so far she has no fear.

Favorite foods: recently olives are #1 on her list (sick)... she also likes any kind of porridge, pancakes, chia seeds, cod liver oil balls (ok not a food but she eats them like they are going out of style!) eggs, smoothies, broccoli, cauliflower, beans, blueberries, bananas... etc.

She just (2 days ago) moved from having her bedroom in our walk in CLOSET into her very own room! Our student and josh's brother (was living here for the summer) moved out so we magically had two more spare rooms so she finally got one, she was growing out of the closet space even though her crib fit nicely in there I couldn't keep her in there forever!

And here is the star of the day!

Happy Birthday Heidi! I agree, one is grown-up, she's definately not a baby anymore, especially when she's walking and talking.
Laura, you are so funny - you're the only person I know who has cod liver oil balls, let alone feeds them to babies!

Fun update. What are cod liver oil balls. Sounds awful! Sorry. That is so exciting that Heidi is walking. It is my favorite milestone for the kids. I was still wondering what camera you bought. The pictures look great. Like I said we are thinking of getting a new one this Christmas and just wanted to know if you liked yours etc. Let me know jclowry@shaw.ca
