Heidi-isms

Despite what the following photos may look like, we are NOT potty training Heidi currently. however since she walks around the house saying "poo poo" constantly after she has filled her diaper and every time any one in the family is using the facilities, and any time I am changing her diaper, I think she knows what it means! However not until tonight has she ever been so adamant about actually sitting on the potty herself. She practically did back flips out of my arms when I wouldn't let her go in the bathroom tonight. So I said ok, you want to sit on the potty? fine. Off the diaper goes and on the potty she sits, biggest smile ever on her face, and then she continues to say "poo poo" the whole time she is sitting there, and when I pulled the stool over to help her she just beamed all the brighter. Why am I posting about a potty break with my not quite 17 month old? Well because it just one of many examples of how much she is growing up! It seems like yesterday she was just a little blob not doing anything but eating and sleeping, and now she is walking and running around everywhere and talking up a storm and imitating all the behaviors she sees her sister and mom and dad doing. I love this age! It is such a fun time to be a mom when they are discovering so many things about the world around them. And she just really is such a comical child. After this episode we went upstairs for bedtime stories and all she was interested in doing is bum drops on her little chair and she had the biggest giggle fit of her life thinking she is the funniest person alive (she is).

Oh and for interest sake, other things she has been known to say lately are "There you are" (when we play peek a boo), door (when Jadyn closes a door in her face and she is upset) and her favorite "ruff ruff" the new name for her favorite dog that she carries around everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE. If we leave the house without it the second we walk in the door she is asking for "ruff ruff". I am happy to report that she hasn't yet learned "mine" or "no".

A little privacy please?

Oh and don't mind her hair, apparently she forgot to brush it today.

And now that I have officially shown off her fabulous thighs, I have to tell you, this girl also does not stop eating! Seriously. She will eat a big breakfast of pancakes or oatmeal and fruit, or eggs, toast, applesauce, whatever. Then a hour later she is asking for food again, and this goes on ALL DAY. Never ends. She wants food all the time. it is not that I don't feed her enough because she eats like a tank, I always have to pack a snack for her and if I don't she will dig through my coat pockets and diaper bag, looking for something and get really mad if nothing turns up! It is nuts! I can't keep up with her. But at least I know she is healthy and growing! My sister told me a couple weeks ago that they made a snowman in their yard, and it ended up being a kind of short and plump looking one... "So we named it Heidi" she says! Then a couple days ago Jadyn was looking at Heidi from the side and thinking really hard and then she says to me. "Mom, does Heidi have a baby in her tummy?"

I nearly died laughing.

So funny! I love that fat girl! Margo has a potty fetish too, we have that little ikea one and she just carried it around and sits on it while having a snack. And yes, she snacks all day too. It must be the age.
