Honesty

So a couple weeks after Mya was born (so about a month ago now) I went to the mall because the girls all needed tights for church in a bad way. So I was in gymborie and bought 6 pairs, I was at the checkout and the lady rang up for 30 something dollars, seeing as the sign said 2 for $16, I asked her if they were on sale? She so rudely and curtly replied "No they are 2 for $16, and I said, yeah but I am getting 6 pairs. She just completely ignored me and impatiently handed me the visa slip to sign. So I just decided to wait until I was out of the store and check the receipt. Sure enough she had charged me $8 for the first 4 pairs and 8 cents for the last two. Well I decided to finish my shopping and stop in on my way out of the mall since I didn't feel like chatting with little miss cranky pants right then anyway. Well of course when I finished up my other shopping the baby was hungry and I was trying to hurry to get home to feed her and I forgot to stop in. So I came home and told Josh about my "moral delema" the lady was so rude and now I have to make a special trip to go pay for the tights. Well it has been a month and I still haven't stepped back into the mall, I try not to get out much these days with 3 small kids unless I absolutely have to, and I just don't seem to think of it when Josh is home to help with the kids.

ANYWAY yesterday at church we had a lesson on honesty in Sunday school (by the way when was the last time you had an honestly lesson in an Adult Sunday School???), and all I could think about were those darn tights. I think it was Heavenly Father prompting me to go to the mall ASAP. Did he forget I JUST had a baby? Ok ok I get it, I am off to the mall this week... Hold me to it.

That is so funny. it's funny how Heavenly Father works some times. I bet when you go in there they will probably not even charge you for the mistake b/c you were being so honest. That's happened to me before.

well, i'd say you were already more then honest. you tried to bring it to their attention. Now the mistake is theirs. you tried, and you tried diligently. I wouldnt worry about it...but maybe i'm just on a lower plain!!
but if it is haunting you, better to have a clear conscience!

I'll bet you anything - when you go to straighten things out they'll just let you keep it as is. Really, they probably won't make you pay. I was at Old Navy this week and a shirt that I thought was $7 came up as $4. So I pointed out that I was pretty sure it was $7 - and in return? She let me keep it at $4 and even let me buy 4 more shirt for $4 each instead of $7. Honesty pays off!!

By the way - I'm impressed that I knew which babies of yours were which. But to tell you the truth - they all looked the same. I based my 'guesses' on the pictures and props and they type of camera taking the pictures instead of what the girls looked like.
