The big move

Well the move into our new house couldn't have gone better. I had a bit of a stressful morning the day before but it all worked out and everything came together nicely!! We had possession on Thursday so Josh went in and painted the girls room bright pink, and Mya's room a light lavender (same as her room in the old house) Jadyn picked out the paint colour for her and Heidi's room and it is quite pink! We actually all love it, it brightens up the room and makes it feel so girly :) hey are sleeping now but I will take a picture another day. On Friday morning I had panned to do a quick sweep of the house to make sure it was clean to my standards and to shampoo the carpets since the previous owners had a dog. I figured I would need all day to work and didn't want to waste any time. Josh was called in that morning to work for a meeting that killed three valuable hours. I was starting to get anxious when he got back having lost those hours. I also had to stop at the school and the post office to have our address changed and a trip to Costco was in order. Needless to say I was running out of time! So I pulled out of my house and did the loop around that I always do since I needed to be on the other side of the road. I realized too late that there was a huge block of ice that I wouldn't be able to drive over without getting stuck, and then I look over and realized there were some cars coming around the corner up the hill behind me so I couldn't reverse either, so I did what any good driver would do and decided I would just pretend I am in a 4 by 4 and not a 1992 Honda Accord, and hop the ice block. FAIL. so I was stuck, 3 hours already lost, stressed, emotional, and I started to cry. Luckily Josh watched the whole thing so I could feel even stupider!!! A really nice lady pulled up right away and got out to see if she could help, which really she couldn't but she offered to run home and get her 17 year old son who is really strong she said. So we accepted and between him and josh with me steering, they still couldn't push the car out, luckily our neighbour was just getting home and so the 4 of them all got behind the car to push and got me out. Meanwhile I had called my mom crying (you know the ugly cry?) and she sent my dad to help while reminding me that being 3 hours behind wasn't that big of a deal since she had just heard on the news about the earthquake in Japan that had already confirmed almost $1000 lives lost. Thanks mom. So now I am 3 hours behind AND I am inconsiderate. So it was a bad day, but in all fairness, considering the families in Japan, it was a pretty sweet day right??? So once they got me out, I jumped out of the car and wiped away my tears and gave the lady that first stopped a big hug and told her I will never forget her, and then proceeded to give her 17 year old son a hug and a thank you as well. I am sure at this point they both thought I was psycho, and I probably was but I was just s grateful and emotional all at the same time. I love when a person will take time out of their busy day to help another person. And now I laugh at myself for being so self involved and ridiculous that day!!! It was all uphill form there thankfully!!! Hahaha.

Ok so the great things about the move start with the walk through with our Realtor when he presented us with our "move in survival kit" Seriously??? So thoughtful!! Made my day. It included some treats, water bottles, toilet paper, hand soap, hand towel, and 3 gift certificates for cleaning service, Boston Pizza and Urban Barn!! It was so great! My mom also surprised me with more cleaning gift certificates so I didn't have to lift a finger at the old house after the move. It was great., For anyone who has moved you know that the worst part is having to go back to the old house and have to clean it up!

I am so happy to be in our house and have the move behind us!!! The girls transitioned really well and seem to be loving it so far too.

These pictures were taken before the move but I think it is so cute how into shoes Mya is lately. She is constantly bringing shoes to me throughout the day to put on her, or she'll just put them on herself and walk around the house. Oh and markers, she has a radar for them. The girls are only allowed to use them when she is napping, but she seems to be able to find them around the house regardless and always throws a huge tantrum when they are taken away. Poor baby.

Heidi is such a good little helper. She loves helping me clean up and cook.

Sorry for the long and totally boring post! hahaha.

Whew! Well good thing that day is behind you. Moves are stressful things. (And time is precious when you've got three kids, even if it is only three lost hours.)
Wow! I want a cleaning service for when I move!
I'm excited to see pictures of the new place too!

I admit,I laughed out loud too....twice in face because it was so funny I had to read it to Brent....not that the stressful things were funny (I wouldn't want that for you at all)...but the whole *thanks. so now I'm 3 hours behind AND I'm inconsiderate* just gave me the giggles.

Glad it all worked out...glad you are loving the new house - can't wait to see it!
