I always imagined piercing my baby girls ears as babies, but when Jadyn was early and spent so much time in the hospital I just never got around to it and just didn't want to bother her with one more "poke" I have however been taking her into Merle Norman at least once a year since then to get it done. I just love little girls with earrings. They always tell me her lobes are too small and to wait until she is at least 12. Well if you have ever seen my husbands ears you will know that those ears are not going to just grow lobes as she gets older. She will always be lobeless, lol! Someone told me that another Merle Norman in town does it when the one we had been going to never do. So when Jadyn's request for getting her ears pierced increased from once in a while to about every other day, I finally decided to make an appointment to try it out. So today was the day. Jadyn has been counting down all week, literally losing sleep over it since it is all she can think about! I had been pinching her ears with my nails quite hard so she would know what it will feel like, but it didn't faze her she was ready for this! Heidi and Aunt Cherisa came along for the ride to support her. She picked out her earrings and unfortunately when they got her on the chair, the girl pulled her hair back from her ear, and literally took a step back exclaiming in sudden surprise what small earlobes she had! So she called another more experience girl over to have a look. They examined her ear and Jadyn sat still waiting for them to decide. I could tell by the look on her face she was worried they might not do it, and when they finally hummed and hawed enough and came to the conclusion that they better not do it and to come back in a few months, I looked at Jadyn and she was completely devastated and holding back the tears, but didn't say a word. I gave her a hug and she started to silently sob on my shoulder. It was so sad!!! So I asked them in there is ANY way they could wiggle the gun around more and pull on her earlobe a little so that it would fit (the problem was that the gun couldn't get high enough on her earlobe to make the hole in the right spot, so by pulling down on her earlobe while piercing it, they should be able to get the right spot if they are careful enough. Now of course I don't want her ear ruined and neither did they so I told them not to do it if they are not comfortable. But I think we were all too heartbroken from her silent tears to not try it out. The lady was so sweet and wiggled it around, and finally decided that they need to do one ear at a time to make sure they get it right. It was so intense!!! I kept saying things like, I really want you to try but I don't want you to do it if you are not comfortable. But she couldn't deny the sadness on Jadyn's face and in the end got the job done. Jadyn was such a champ. She literally sat there like a statue waiting for them to pierce her ear and after the first one she didn't even flinch, not even a blink, and again after the second one, not a response at all! She was so brave!! She said it didn't hurt but when I asked 5 minutes later she admitted it was a little tender. She didn't complain at all the rest of the day and made sure to remind me that we need to clean and turn the earrings before she goes to bed. She loves them, and they look so cute on her :) Want to see pictures?

Sitting in the chair with the pen marks on her earlobes waiting for things to get going! This was before all the drama so she was still happy and excited!

Here they are trying to fit the gun around her ears to see if it will work.

Waiting...

And finally the one girl took charge and it was done!

Celebrating with some yogen fruz afterward.

I wanted a picture so we could remember the day and that Heidi was there, she wasn't in the mood for pictures! She also had no interest in ear piercing even though I suggested she could get hers done, she insisted that she will get hers pierced when she is 5, like Jadyn.

And a merry go round in the mall for some more celebrating :)

I love it.

And I also love this picture of Jadyn and Mya wrestling on the couch, They are such buddies. Mya loves following her around and sitting on her lap to play.

We also did some conference watching this morning before we headed out. I printed out a conference package from
sugardoodle for them to do for the weekend. They loved it.

And a little celebration of spring we woke up to this morning! I actually got stuck on the way to the mall for about half an hour while the neighbors and Josh pushed me out of the cul de sac! Lovely!
And on that note have I mentioned my wonderful neighbors yet? A few days after we moved in we realized after meeting at the park one afternoon that our next door neighbours is one of Heidi's friends from preschool! And then the other neighbour knocked on the door a few day in also (a little 5 year old girl) and she introduced herself and said that she heard there were girls living here and wanted to meet them! Bless her heart. And across the street are some friends from our ward! The other two neighbours we have met while shoveling snow and they are also such wonderful people and almost all the families have kids my kids ages, so it is the perfect neighbourhood for us. We are so happy here :)
And if you made it to the end of this post you are as long winded as me today, thanks for reading!
