Tough Mudder, Utah 2012

Last weekend we DROVE down to Utah, for a whirlwind weekend trip!  We left Thursday after school and drove through the night with all the kids and Josh's brother, Matthew.  We arrived Friday morning, did some shopping, relaxing, ate pizza, and then on Saturday, the boys, along with their best childhood friends the Crowfoot's, they headed out to the Tough Mudder challenge.  It was a brisk day and the first hour with the kids was rough, the first hour for the guys was even rougher!  But then the sun came out briefly and all was well for a while for everyone.  As the challenge went on and the girls and I (with my sister Nikki) got more and more excited to watch them do the events and walk along side them some of the time, the guys got more and more tired and cold.  It was crazy.  People actually PAY to get electrocuted these days.  lol.  Awesome event and lots of fun overall, and next summer Tough Mudder is coming to Calgary!  Are you in?

I have way too many pictures to post because it was so crazy and awesome that I couldn't narrow it down!  Nikki has a waterproof/shockproof camera that she let the guys borrow, so Josh stuffed it into his shorts and they even got some pictures along the way (we weren't able to follow along all of the events, it just is too far!  12 miles total and it took them just under 5 hours to complete!  So here are the pictures, and a utube video of this years event.  Josh is going to work on our own personal video from the clips and photos we got too :)  It's going to be intense :)

The first challenge they watched daddy do, I think they were a little surprised!  Haha

Watching and waiting!

Yeah right dad, don't even think about touching me!!!

Yes, that sign says electroshock therapy and yes the guys got shocked with the ends of all those hanging wires as they made their way though!  There was talk of intense pain, fear, and blacking out following this last challenge!

And the group huddle at the finish line, he did it!

The nasty shoe donation pile

Waiting in line, and freezing while he waits, for the cold shower he is about to take to get the mud off.  Fun!

We also did a few non tough mudder related items, like play with Nathans kittens, go to Target and games night with the Higginsons.

This is what happens when I leave the kids with Josh for 5 minutes to try and find a few things in Target.  Needless to say we did not take this shopping cart home (except the sweet girl inside:)
