Long weekend fun!

The weekend started off with Laura and Nathan coming to town. They stayed at the Sheraton hotel and invited us over Friday night to hang out at the pool with water slides. FUN! Karen came to town this weekend and stayed with us a couple nights so we got to play with her and Benjamin!

On Saturday we spent the morning at the Lake down the street. We will be spending a lot of time there this summer I think! Then all afternoon was spent preparing food for Josh's big birthday bash. Josh doesn't really like to celebrate his birthday, he likes to keep it low key, so the plan was to have a few close friends and neighbours over for a BBQ. But then when all his family decided to come to town it turned into a big party and he realized that he does like to celebrate his birthday in a big way! It was fun. I hardly noticed Jadyn all day because she was so busy playing with her cousins, I forgot she was even around. She has good cousins that look out for her!

I also finished planting my vegetable garden and my flowers up front. I can't wait for some yummy food to come up later in the summer!

The "long" weekend was cut short because with Josh's new job they take American holidays, so Monday was spent just like any other day with me and my girls! And for those of you who are wondering what new job I am talking about, here is the scoop. Out of the blue Josh was offered a job less than 2 weeks ago with TransAlta as an energy trader. This is something he has been really interested in but never thought about actually doing for work, so when the job presented itself with a cushy paycheck and amazing benefits he decided to take it! The thing is that he was doing really well at mortgages for now but he figured that if the market ever crashes again he will be one of the "small guys" left behind because he is still just getting into the business and hasn't made a name for himself yet. There are lots of other reasons but that is the gist of it! He loves the new job (all 2 1/2 days of it!) so far.
