Something about Butter

This morning as I was checking my email on the couch, I heard giggle fits of laughter coming from the kitchen where Jadyn and Heidi were finishing up their pancake breakfasts. I though how cute it was to have our home filled with the laughter of happy children, so I didn't pay much attention to what all the laughter was about and just kept about my business. After a minute or so I looked over to see them each taking turns dipping their fingers into the butter dish and licking them. What is it about plain butter that is so fantastic to every child under the age of 5?

Jaycie also loves to eat butter plain. She has on occasion dipped her finger in the butter and ate it and sometimes still asks to do it too if she sees it out or me using it. Other times I will let her spread her own butter on toast or whatever and the gobs that are on there, well, I will just say yuck, but she loves it and it isn't going to hurt her so I say whatever. Oh, to be a kid!
