Conference preparations

In preparing for conference this coming session, I decided my kids are getting old enough that I want them to actually sit and listen to a few of the talks and to try and get something out of it, so I am searching for some ideas online and found a few I like that I wanted to share in case you too are interested in doing some preparations! I think it will be fun to sit and learn the apostles with the girls and to help them learn more about them and why we listen to them at conference time. First I printed this and cut and laminated these cards and am going to take them to church to start going over them during sacrament meeting or before bedtime. Then I printed and put this booklet together to hopefully make conference more fun as they point out the Apostles and the Prophet they learned about from the cards! I think it is going to make conference come alive more at least for Jadyn and get her excited when she sees the familiar faces on the screen. It will also help to have some special treats and conference "food" prepared for the weekend.

A few more fun ideas found here. I think I will definitely try the "tent" one:

What are some fun traditions you do with your family at conference time?

I've heard of a lot of families that do conference bingo. I'm not sure how to translate that into a preschool activity, but it is possible I guess if you used pictures or something instead of words.
