Crafting...white trash style

We do a lot of playdoh around here, the girls love making food especially and "serving" it to me and one another. The other day we made cars out of their car molds they were having a lot of fun with this. Jadyn had hers all lined up in a row, and Heidi had hers all paired off making kissing sounds... I wonder what this means for the future? What role does how you play with paydoh have in creating who you will be as a person? I guess we will wait and see. Until then at least it is pretty fun to watch.


I always swore I wasn't going to be one of those moms who lets their kids wear whatever they want, but as they are getting older and more independent I have come to realize that choosing their style of dress has a lot to do with their individuality and self worth, so I am trying to be more laid back and let the kids choose their clothes every day and not say too much if thy don't necessarily "Match" or when Jadyn picks out a crazy headband and fall in love with it, then I will just let it be and let her bask in the glory of the beautiful floral crown upon her head. What do you think...?

And about the title of this post. I firmly believe in letting kids get messy while crafting, it's important to not worry about a little (or a lot) of mess, as long as it is within reason of course. So I love the summer time exploring and crafty messes we can make outside when the weather starts to get warm which it finally is around here, yay!!

It all started out with this...


While I was getting the younger two packed in the car to go out, Jadyn was apparently starting a rock collection.


So the next day I decided we better not let those rocks go to waste and we pulled out the paint to decorate them. While we were at it we might as well add in some puffy paint, glitter, pom poms and googly eyes right? So the rocks turned into this:

Now I have to go find one of those stiff bristled brooms and scrub the mess we left behind on the sidewalk!
